I’ve just switched to taking my meds at night before i go to bed. I am on Atripla – is this ok?

Hi,

It is a good idea to have switched to taking your Atripla at night! It is usually recommended that you take it this way.

This is because of efavirenz, one of the drugs in Atripla. It is recommended that you take it at night before sleeping. This is because you will be sleeping while drug levels are highest. This means you might avoid some side effects.

It is also usually recommended that you take it either on an empty stomach or with a low fat meal. This is because a high fat meal can increase drug levels. This can lead to more, or worse, side effects.
