Question
Should I take meds in early pregnancy?
8 September 2018. Related: All topics, Pregnancy, Starting treatment.
I’ve been positive for a few years, but I’m not on treatment. I think I may be pregnant. Is it OK to use medication when you’re pregnant?
Answer
Thanks for getting in touch.
Its perfectly safe to take medication when pregnant. Its also actually really important that you do. This is because being on meds will reduce the risk of transmission to your baby, that is if you’re pregnant. Please see here for more info:

Importantly ARVs are necessary for your own personal well being as they’ll control the virus.
