Scientific, legal and ethical crisis from halting ongoing NIH studies: TAG statement

Simon Collins, HIV i-Base

On 21 May 2025, the New York-based community activist group TAG issued a press release on the scientific, legal and ethical crisis caused by the new US administration.

This has included the widespread termination of ongoing HIV research studies, including those run by the ACTG, HPTN, HVTN and IMPAACT networks.

This threatens the ability of researchers to adhere to the ethical and legal requirements for protecting the health and rights of thousands of people currently enrolled as study participants.

Please see the press release for full details.
