Answer
If your doctor prescribed HIV medication that looks like the pill in the picture and has M171 embossed, this is likely to be Tribuss.

Picture: Tribuss, manufactured by Aspen.
The picture is not very clear, but M171 is one one side and D100 is on the other.
This is based on the information at this website.

Tribuss is a generic version of Atripla and it is manufactured by Aspen. It is widely used in South Africa.
Just like Atripla, Tribuss contains three active HIV drugs – efavirenz, tenofovir-DF and emtricitabine.
Sometimes Tribuss is mainly used as an HIV treatment by people who are HIV positive. However, this is an older treatment that is steadily being switched to newer drugs in many countries.
Some countries use Tribuss as a way to prevent HIV after recent risk for people who are HIV negative. This way of using HIV meds is called PEP. Tribuss is not recommended as PEP in most countries though because of the risk of side effects that are higher in people who are HIV negative.

Hi Sharon,
This is a possible side effect to the efavirenz that are in the meds that you’re taking. If it doesn’t get any better you may need to change. For more info pleas see Q3 here:

Because you have a rash, its important that you see your doctor. They will be able to give you something for the rash. Or the may suggest that you change meds.
I’ve been taking this pill since June and for the past three weeks have not been sleeping well. I sleep for two hour intervals then I’m awake and wake up exhausted. And also I get rash on the sides of my face.

I had unprotected sex with a partner who is hiv positive but she was on treatment with m171 pill what are chances of me get infected.it been three months since the incident happened.i did test it came negative.it was just rapid test.can it be positive after six months?
Hi Eva,
If you’re partner isn’t taking his medication like he should be this may mean that his viral load isn’t undetectable. If this is the case, you will be at risk of contracting HIV. Therefore, you need to test.

Hi Zama,
Its perfectly safe to take Atrozia when pregnant. They won’t effect the baby. What they will do is reduce the risk of transmission. For more info about HIV and pregnancy, please see here:

Since you found out, have you been able to talk to anyone? Are you getting support?

I wanted to ask which medication is best recommended for intake during pregnancy? Are atrozia’s safe? Please help..
Hi TMMM,
The side effects that you’re having should go within a few weeks. If they don’t then you should talk to your doctor.
Have you tried taking the meds in the evening just before you go to bed?
I just receive meds last week but I feel dizzy, headache, vomiting and I don’t have any strength. How long will it take with these side effects, my entire life or what?
