    Hi Violet,

No this shouldn’t be dangerous. Avonza is the same as Atroiza, but instead of FTC (emtricitabine) in contains 3TC (lamivudine). Please see here for more info on Atripla and the different brand names.

    Hi Thembi,

Part of your question has already been answered here How quickly does viral load drop on treatment?

Modern ARVs are all safe and effective. But the best for causing the fasted drop in viral load when you start treatment are integrase inhibitors. You can read about them here.

    Hi Peige,

If you’re on PEP, you should test once you’ve finished the course. If your boyfriend had an invalid result he would have had another test. He also wouldn’t have been put on all of the medication that he’s on. From what you’ve said, it implies that he’s actually positive. You may wish to talk to him about this.

    Hi Juila,

Consipation can be due to a lot of things, one of which is stress and also diet. Constipation is usually easy to treat. You could ask your pharmacist for something that will help you go to the bathroom easier.

Hi Lucky, Atenef is a treatment for HIV. If your girlfriend is taking this and she has an undetectable viral load, HIV cannot be transmitted. See this study PARTNER.
