Could my child be negative?

I am HIV positive and my 7 weeks son was tested positive and currently on medication. Are there any chances of him testing negative?

When you had your baby what was your viral load? Are you taking ARVs? When you gave birth did you have a c-section or a vaginal delivery? Is your baby taking medication?
Testing in babies is complex and is done over an 18 month period, even if the first test was positive this doesn’t always mean that it will remain like this. This is something that you should talk to your babies doctor about. For more about HIV testing in babies, please see here:

Yes we both taking medication and it was vaginal delivery
