Can I change the time when I take my meds?

I’ve been taking my meds for a while. My viral load is undetectable. Is it OK if I change the time that I take them? I want to change from 8pm until 9pm.
Answer
Thanks for getting in touch.
Its perfectly fine to change the time that you take your meds from 8pm until 9pm. This won’t have any effect on your HIV, nor viral load.
Hi Mary,
If you want to change to taking your meds in the morning, the best thing to do is take them at night, then again in the morning. After the morning dose you’ll then stop taking them at night.
How can l change from taking arvs from night to day time
Hi Lindie,
Yes, this will probably be fine. But is there a reason for your question?
Please let us know what ARVs you’re taking. And if you have access to your CD4 count and viral load results, please tell us what they are.
Hi can I take my arvs at 22:00?
Hi Stephen,
ARVs should ideally be taken at a time that works for you. If 8pm works, then yes take them then.
I have been taking my Arv at 8 am but now I have change to 8 pm I my correct?
Hi Miss T,
Yes that’s fine. Just switch to 21:30 and carry on with that time. With most ARVs there’s a window period of an hour either side of your target time when it’s still okay to take them.
I have recently started taking Arv’s for the last 3months every night at 20:00.and now i want to change into 21:30.is it safe
Hi Sinoh,
ARVs can be taken a few hours either side of your normal time, this won’t be an issue.
If I take any time my ARV at night it’s gonna work fine
