Question
I’m undetectable, is my partner at risk?
23 October 2018. Related: All topics, HIV transmission.
I’m undetectable and have been for a while. Yesterday I had anal sex with my partner who’s negative. I’ve read the U=U stuff, but could he still be at risk. I’m worried that my viral load could have rebounded, though I never miss a dose.
Answer
Thanks for getting in touch.
If your HIV is under control, which is sounds like it is. Then no, your partner isn’t at risk when you have sex. Please see here:Â https://i-base.info/u-equals-u/
