I’m positive, my partner is negative. My viral load is detectable, can I have sex without using a condom?
Answer
Thanks for getting in touch.
If you have sex without a condom with your partner when your viral load is detectable you risk infecting your partner with HIV.
Until your viral load is undetectable you’ll need to either abstain from sex or use a condom. Once your viral load is undetectable, there’s no risk to your partner. Please see here: https://i-base.info/u-equals-u/
