Is it OK to take volutrip in the morning instead of in the evening?
Answer
Thanks for getting in touch.
Volutrip can be taken at any time of day, so yes, if the mornings work for you, you can take them then.
Hello Thembisa and thanks for getting in touch.
Unfortunately, to answer your question we need more information.
1. What is the actual number of copies per ml? Why do you say your viral load is high?
2. Has your clinic asked you to switch to Volutrip? And if yes, what medication do you take now?
For everyone living with HIV, being on ARVs is essential.
The ARVs ensure your viral load can be undetectable in which case your protect your health and can have a long, active life but you also protect your partners, and if you get pregnant, your children, as you cannot pass on HIV – this is called U=U

However, it is your doctor who will propose which ARVs are best for you.
You can always have a discussion and possibly choose between the proposed regimens but it is your doctor’s responsibility first.
Volutrip is a combination used by millions with very good tolerability profile and little (if any) side effects.
I can’t tell you if this is the right regimen for you as I don’t have all the needed information.
Please discuss this further with your doctor.
My viral load is high do you think Volutrip can help me?
Hello Nonzwakazi and thank for the question.
Voluptrip is a generic version of ARV that contains Tenofovir, Lamivudine and Dolutegravir.
This shouldn’t be very different from the medication you are taking now so you probably won’t have any side effects.
The medication you have been prescribed is very safe.
Some people however have experienced some mental health difficulties with dolutegravir.
This doesn’t mean it will happen to you.
A lot of people take dolutegravir today without any problems.
I would suggest starting the new medication.
If you have any side effects you should inform your clinic and your doctor can have a discussion with you about other medication options .
