Q and A

Question

My viral load is undetectable, can I still transmit?

I’ve been on ARVs for 14 months, my viral load is undetectable, can I still transmit HIV to my partner?

Answer

Thanks for getting in touch.

So long as you are good at not missing your meds, there is no risk to your partner. This is even if you are not using condoms.

When someone has an undetectable viral load HIV transmission to a sexual partner is not a risk.
