Question
How do I manage the next ten days without one of my meds?

I am travelling for ten days out of the U.K. and mistakenly took two bottles of Truvada and not one of Tivakay. I have three emergency pills with me but it will be seven days before I can get my other pills.
Should I split what pills I have or space the taking of them over ten days.
Answer
Hi, thanks for your Q and for letting us post the answer online.
There might not be much difference but it is probably better to take the remaining Tivicay (dolutegravir) every other day until they run out, leaving about four days just on Truvada).
Viral rebound takes at least a week if you were to stop all meds, so it will stay undetectable because you are still on the two drugs in Truvada.
Luckily, this is just a couple of days and doing this once will not affect your long-term health.
Hi Simon,
What ARVs are you taking? How long will you be without your full combination?
Should I continue taking the one drug I have even if I have run out of the second drug that usually take at the same time?
