Q and A

Question

Do I have to change from Atrozia to TLD?

Why does one have to change from Atroiza to TLD?

Answer

Hi, how are you doing?

Atrozia and TLD are different medication combinations. Many countries are moving towards the use of TLD over Atrozia due to fewer side effects.

Atrozia contains efavirenz which causes a number of the side effects associated with Atrozia. It is the reason why it is taken at night. Instead, TLD is taken in the morning which reduces the side effect of possible poor sleep.

If you continue to be unsure about why your medication is being, talking to your healthcare provider will help reduce stress. You can also let them know what you would like to do regarding your medication.

If you have any further questions please do get in touch,

Josh.

Hi Pretty, after 3 months it would not be expected for a new skin side effect to occur. Though it is still recommended that you speak with your doctor about this. Is this a rash you have had before? and have you noticed anything about it e.g., itchiness/pain, bumps?

It would be suitable to switch to TLD if this is an available option. Before switching you should consult with your doctor and determine the cause of the rash. If it is found to be caused by Atrioza, switching would be the most important thing to do.
