My CD4 count was 406 after starting ART. After 6 months my CD4 is 566. So am I doing Good? Or in 6 months it should be increased more?
Answer
Hi, how are you doing?
It is great to hear how good your CD4 count is. Above 500 is excellent, this goes for people who are HIV positive or negative. In someone not living with HIV, a healthy CD4 count is considered to be between 430 and 1690.
It is possible your CD4 count could increase but at 566 your immune system is very healthy. If it stays like this it will still indicate your medication is working very well. A CD4 count in this range means you are not at risk of any opportunistic infection.
Josh.
Hi Melissa, a CD4 count of 1800 is very a high. The normal range is between 430 and 1690.
Were you told anything about your CD4 count when you were given the result?
If ur cd4 is 1800 is it good or bad
