Q and A

Question

Do PrEP and omeprazole interact?

I have been on daily PrEP since the original trials but have now been put on Omeprazole to combat stomach acid. Is there anything I should know about interaction between the two?

Answer

Hi, how are you doing?

Are you using Truvada for PrEP? If you are there is no interaction between PrEP and omeprazole. You are safe to take them both.

Josh.

Hi Paul, this will depend on which meds are in the PEP. The last two drugs are nibiotics nd re fine. The first drug though is an antacid which cn interact with protease inhibitors. Please ask our doctor or pharmcist to check.
