Q and A

Question

I took the morning dose of Paxlovid in the evening.

I accidentally took the morning dose of Paxlovid in the evening. Is that a problem?

Answer

Hi, how are you doing?

Did you not take the morning dose? and instead you only had Paxlovid in the evening?

As with most medication, this is likely to be fine. Continue taking your medication when you were originally meant to.

If you notice any side effects/unexpected symptoms please speak to a pharmacist/doctor.

Also, are you HIV positive? This Q&A information service is only for people living with HIV.

Hello Jenn and thank you for the question.
It doesn’t sound like something serious taking a dose a little earlier.
Can you send more information as to what medication you are taking? The pills look different in every country so I can’t understand what tablet the pink one was. Please write the names as you see them on the labels.

Hi I took evening dose at 5pm then just took one pink on at 945. Did not know it was every 12 hrs I was not told by pharmacy ND it’s not on the label after I took one I said maybe I should check to how far apart I should take. And I saw every 12 hrs. I’m I still ok even though one pink one

took morning dose of paxlovid and then noticed another paxlovid pill so I assumed I didn’t take it earlier so I took it. Now I’ve found the other half dose so I assume I’ll take it tonight

Hi Anne – I am sorry but you don’t give enough information. Are you HIV positive and what is the medicine. Please ask your doctor or pharmacy about dosing your meds.

It’s 2 pm and I just received the medicine. Should I start it immediately or wait for 4 hours?

Hi Alma, this is a site about HIV treatments. Amy pharmacist can advise about other drugs.
