I accidentally took the morning dose of Paxlovid in the evening. Is that a problem?

Did you not take the morning dose? and instead you only had Paxlovid in the evening?
As with most medication, this is likely to be fine. Continue taking your medication when you were originally meant to.
If you notice any side effects/unexpected symptoms please speak to a pharmacist/doctor.

I took one morning pill and one night pill will that effect anything
Hi Donna, do not wait until the morning. It is okay to take this dose slightly earlier on the first day. Would you be able to stay awake until 9pm?
You can then continue the course of Paxlovid at 9am and 9pm for the duration.

Hi Devan, while there are no studies there is no reason to think there will be a problem. A liver hemangioma is a benign tumour and there is no caution while taking Paxlovid.
Paxlovid will not make this liver haemagioma worse and it is safe to continue treatment.
Hi I started paxlovid yesterday. I don’t really have liver disease, I do however have a liver hemangioma. A blood tumor. It doesn’t cause me any trouble but didn’t know if Paxlovid would make it worse. Are there any studies on this?
Hi Kim, yes you can start the first dose at night. It will mean you finish the course of treatment with a morning dose and that is safe to do.
Try to take the evening dose at a time you would like to continue with for every 12 hours e.g., 9pm and then continue with 9am.
Can I start first dosage at night?
Hi Sharon, as you have taken your first dose in the evening it would now be okay to take the following dose in the morning.
As 05:30 am would be an awkward time for you to continue medication, it would be okay to delay this by a few hours e.g., 07:30 am.
You will then be able to continue with your course of Paxlovid treatment at 07:30 am and pm for the duration.
Being late for the 2 hours to delay the time of your treatment will not impact how well it works.
