29 October 2007. Related: All topics, HIV transmission.
I am a male adult of 52 years.I have been tested HIV negative I had unprotected exposure with a woman that I paid to have sex with me in 1999. I have been tested repeatedly for HIV but the result is negative. I have got the CD4 counts and CD percentafge done on different occasions.
From 2001-2007, my absolute count has remained the same (about 735) and so has the CD4 percentage (50%). However there has been conditions that makes me worried that about HIV.I have muscular pain all around the shoulders and joints. I have become a little bit reduced in figure wise. My weight although has increased or reduced over the period of time. There is no relief from pain since 1999.
In view of above syptoms will you generalise my sickness to be some sexually disease or HIV. Please advise me the kind of sickness I am having.
Answer
This is a Q&A service about HIV and your test results show you do not have HIV.
If you have pain or symptoms, then it is important that you need to see a doctor.
Hi Jermaine, please see a doctor about the discharge in case this is an STI.
Hi, I got tested about 1 month ago the results was negative now I’m getting a white discharge from the penis, what could it be?
Hi Orji, this service is just about HIV. For anything else please speak to a doctor.

Hi Mike, Please see:

I felt I was exposed to HIV in July so I went for the test it’s negetive ,then later in August I tested again negative ,Now am seeing some symptoms and am really afraid am dropping weight ,joint pains ,sore mouth .Do I have it or not ??Or any other std ??
No. As long as the test is 2-3 months after the last time you had unprotected sex, then the result is accurate.
Other illnesses, infections, medications, drug use ot alcohol etc DO NOT affect the result of an HIV antibody test.
A white spot is not an indication of HIV.
I received unprotected oral sex a few times. I think the last time I had oral sex was in January and I had a test done in June or July because I noticed a white spot on my private area.
I went to the emergency room and talked to a doctor and he just gave me a std shot and sent me on my way. So i went to another emergency room and they did a blood test and it came back negative.
Would the std test have any thing to do with the HIV test results?
This means that you are NOT HIV-positive. In other words, you are NOT infected with the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). A doctor will be able to check whether you have any other condition.
I had tested myself but the result is negative what does it mean.
