I’m going to be late taking PrEP…

Hey,
I took my double dose at 13:30 on day 1, had sex at 8pm. On day 2 which is today I won’t be able to take the tablet until 22:30 as I’m out all day. I did take a tablet with me but dropped it as I was opening water and couldn’t find it.
Looking over other messages I think it’s ok.

Hi Chris, how are you doing?
You are right. This is okay. Being late can reduce some of the effectiveness of treatment, but some PrEP is always better than no PrEP.
As this is day 2 after the double dose, there is likely still PrEP within your body to account for being late. You should take your final dose at 13:30 on day 3.
