Thanks – great question – and a very important one.
This is especially true for people living with HIV, because a healthy balanced diet can keep us more healthy in life,
There is room for a lot of choice and variety, but following the following general guides.
- Reducing red meats on instead eat white meats and fish.
- Include vegetables and fruit – at least five portions a day,
- Nuts and pulses/beans are a healthy way to get protein.
- Limit high-fat foods.
- Avoid high sugar and high salt foods.
- Avoid or minimise eating highly processed foods,
- Limit eating fried foods and cook food in ways that needs less oil.
