This is especially true for people living with HIV, because a healthy balanced diet can keep us more healthy in life,

There is room for a lot of choice and variety, but following the following general guides.

  • Reducing red meats on instead eat white meats and fish.
  • Include vegetables and fruit – at least five portions a day,
  • Nuts and pulses/beans are a healthy way to get protein.
  • Limit high-fat foods.
  • Avoid high sugar and high salt foods.
  • Avoid or minimise eating highly processed foods,
  • Limit eating fried foods and cook food in ways that needs less oil.
