I am Muslim – is it okay for me to fast?

Am a Muslim and we do fast for 30 days.

Can I fast when it is time to fast?

Hi there

People living with HIV can still take part in religious fasting although please check that your doctor knows about this.

If you have a serious illness linked to advanced HIV, then fasting might not be good. Your religion would recognise this and make an exception.

Also, it is important to still take your HIV meds during the fast. This is also allowed.

If you meds need to be taken with food, please change the time that you take them, so that you can still take them with food.
