I gave baby water and medicine?

Can my baby be infected? I gave her traditional medicine and water and I’m breastfeeding?

Congratulations on having a baby. How old is baby?

Are you on treatment? and has baby had their own HIV treatment e.g., nevirapine?

If baby is younger than 6 months, baby doesn’t need water. What treatment did you give? If you are on treatment, there will be minimal risk with giving water/treatment.

After 6 months, baby can be mixed fed and doing so is healthy. It will not increase HIV transmission risk.
