Question
Is it possible to get re-infected with another strain if I’m on medication?

Hi, I am undetectable on Eviplera. I had sex with someone who was detectable. I assumed I was ok. I’ve been a bit ill with fever shortly after. Is this coincidence?
Is it possible to get re-infected with another strain if I’m on medication?
Thanks
Answer
Hi, how are you doing?
This is most likely coincidence.
The only risk of reinfection is if this person had a resistant strain to Eviplera. This would be very rare.
As you are on treatment you are protected from reinfection in most instances. This is why having a fever is most likely a coincidence. Do you know if this person was on treatment? and if they are do you know the name of the treatment?
Josh.

Hi Ben, no. There are no drugs that can ‘hide’ a positive status.
Hi is true that when you take any painkiller and you go for the status test hides HIV STATUS?
