Question

Is it safe to feed my baby refrigerated breast milk?

Is it safe to feed my baby refrigerated breast milk?

Answer

Hi, how are you doing?

Congratulations on having a baby. Yes this is safe to do.

This is a great way to avoid mixed feeding if you cannot breast feed all the time.

Storing breast milk in the fridge and giving it to baby is safe.

Josh.

Hi Zoe, being late by 18 minutes is not going to put your baby at any risk. It is okay to be 18 minutes late. This is not going to risk your treatment or how HIV is being managed.

As a guide, HIV should be taken within an hour of your normal time e.g., between 8 and 9, if you normally take it at 8:30. Within this our there will be no problems with adherence and successful treatment.

Hi, I am breastfeeding and I was late to take my pill by 18 minutes. Will that put my baby at more risk?
