Question

ARVs and ‘Ibiza the nami ugobho’…

Hi, how are you? I have been taking my HIV pills for 1 year now and i’m looking to get pregnant. I heard about this Ibiza the nami ugobho so I wanted to use it to clean my womb. Is it safe if i’m taking ARVs? Will it interfere with my meds? I’ll be taking it for 3 weeks only.

Answer

Hi, I am doing well thank you, how are you?

I do not recognise ‘Ibiza the nami ugobho’. I have not come across this and do not know what is is/used for.

You do not need to clean your womb to be pregnant/increase fertility. Your womb is able to ‘cleanse’ itself and you can consider menstruation a natural way of cleansing. After each period, you are shedding the old womb lining ready for the following egg if it has been fertilised.

ARV treatment will not reduce how likely you are to become pregnant. It has no effect on your fertility/menstrual cycle. As ARVs suppress HIV and maintain your immune system, ARVs are the best way to remain healthy which in turn will help with your chances of becoming pregnant.

Josh.
