Q and A

Question

Can I have bone pains if not on treatment?

Can someone still have mild bone pains during 4 months HIV when not on Treatment yet?

Answer

Hi, how are you doing?

Yes this is possible. In about 5 out of every 100 people living with HIV they will experience joint pain.

Have you been investigated for other causes of this pain other than HIV e.g., rheumatoid arthritis or osteoarthritis.

Is there a reason you have not started treatment? If this pain is caused by HIV, treatment will help to reduce this inflammation and hopefully get rid of the pain. How are you managing the pain now?

Do you know your current viral load and CD4 count?

Josh.
