When and what Log values determines when to switch to 2nd line?

Answer

Hi, how are you doing?

As in line with WHO guidelines, a switch is recommended when having a viral load test greater than 1000 (Log 3) on two tests 3 months apart. After the first test adherence support should be offered to ensure the medication is being taken as intended.

An exception is when someone is using a regimen including an NNRTI

An individual must be taking a regimen for a minimum of 6 months before it can be considered a failed regimen.

Josh.
