Question

How effective is HIV medication in children?

How effective HIV treatment in kids these days . Is this possible to survive normal life after diagnosed hiv in 3 year old child

Answer

Hi, how are you?

HIV treatment is very effective. Treatment can be used lifelong.

Starting treatment as early as you can means they will have similar health to someone HIV negative. The only difference being taking a pill each day but this is all.

Life expectancy and health outcomes can be the same between someone HIV negative and someone positive when on treatment and adhering well.

Hi Nag, is your partner on HIV treatment? If they are they will have a life expectancy equal to that of someone HIV negative.

Treatment works to suppress HIV and when taken properly will mean it has little to no impact on the persons health. In some cases life expectancy is seen to be longer as they will have more interactions with clinical staff and other health problems can be picked up and treated earlier.

    Hi,

Im looking forward to marry a girl who is born hiv positive. Now she is 25 years. I wanted to know the life expectancy of people born with hiv.

This may sound stupid but just want to know. That’s it.

I tried to Google but didn’t find any info so far….
