Q and A

Question

Can I use antibiotics to treat HIV?

Can ciproflaxacin, metronidazole and doxycap takes care of HIV at stage 1 of infection?

Answer

Hi, how are you doing?

No these treatments will not work to treat HIV stage 1 infection.

HIV is a viral infection. These medications listed treat bacterial infections. They can be used in some cases when HIV makes you more susceptible to other infections. They will help protect against bacteria, not to treat HIV.

HIV is treatment with anti-retrovirals (ARVs). These medications work by suppressing HIV in the body and stop it damaging the immune system. The body can then naturally recover it’s own immune system.

Starting treatment is explained here.

Hello and thanks for the question.

HIV is not related to any kind of discharge.

Other STIs or conditions might explain the discharge especially in the genital area.

Please consider visiting a sexual health clinic if you are worried.
