Q and A

Question

How accurate is a fourth generation test at 23 days?

During an event I had protected sex with a woman who I paid to have sex with me. I had flu and fever, as well as a bad sore throat (lasted 2 weeks for the sore throat) the following week. As I am worried, I had a 4th Generation test on the 23rd day after exposure.

The result was negative and I was told by the doctor that it was 95% accurate at that point, and I should not worry. Being paranoid, I am worry about the remaining 5%.

Please advice me if the result is conclusive?

Answer

Thank you for your question.

The test is more accurate than 95% at 28 days and less so at 23 days. there are not accuracy figures for every day past exposure. It should be over 99.99% accurate 12 weeks after an exposure.

25 days will be fine. If you are really that worried then wait the extra 3 days for 28 days but it will not make any difference in the result.
