Your symptoms may or may not be related to HIV. For many people the worry after a potential exposure causes far more anxiety and stress when the risk that they may have cuaght HIV is extremely low.

Contact a sexual health clinic where you can go through the type of risk in more detail, and to arrange to take an HIV test. If your exposure was with 72 hours, you may still want to try using PEP. This is a month of HIV drugs taken after potential exposure to reduce the risk of infection.

If you are HIV positive, then finding out earlier with help your protect your health and that of your future sexual partners.

If your symptoms are related to HIV, then you will be extremely infectious during this period.
