Will I test positive some day?

Question:
My husband cheated many times. We started using condoms from july 2009.I tested negative in November 2009. I asked him to get tested and I think he did and kept it a secret. In April 2010 we had unprotected sex for three weeks. He always had excuses about not going for the test, until he agreed to go with me on May 12. He tested HIV positive and I tested negative. I became so scared I started taking vitamin C supplements. I tested every second week with negative results. Week 8 my neck began to hurt on the left side and I thought I had a swollen node. Week 18 I got tingling in different parts of my body. Week 22 I had a headache with fever for two days. Ten days after that at week 24 I still tested negative. I’m confused and afraid that someday my test will turn positive. Any advice will be appreciated.

It is possible for one person to test HIV positive and for another to test HIV negative even if they have been in a relationship for many years. We do not know why this happens. Please see a similar question we have answered before.

I would like to thank God and you charlotte for the reassurance that you gave me and the time that you took to read and answer my questions though i still had a doubt about the validity of my test due to the symptoms that i had.Im glad to share with u and everyone at i-base that i tested negative again today,this is 10 months after exposure.I think i would be able to put this behind me and move on.Thank you once again and God bless you!
The symptoms you describe are not related to HIV. If you tested 13 times in 24 weeks and they were all negative then you do not have HIV. You need to put this behind you and move on or seek some professional counselling about why you are so convinced you have HIV when you are not infected.
I’m concerned because I had all the symptoms and again the nail white moon area on my middle fingers are not shaped like before, on one nail it sometimes dissapear and then reappear in bad shape but I’m tired of testing. I tested negative 13 times in 24 weeks, I told myself I would believe my 12 week test then 24 week negative but these symptoms are worrying me. What is your opinion?
Vitamin C does not affect testing. You do not have HIV.
Does it mean I’m really HIV negative at 24 weeks? Does vitamin C affect testing?
