Does a non-reactive test after 6 months mean I am HIV negative?

i had sexual exposure in august 2007. i went for antibody test at the end of three month and the result was non-reactive.

i went for antibody test at the end of six month and the result was non-reactive again.

After the incident in august2007 i have not involved myself in any risky behaviour .
is this result reliable enough to consider myself hiv negative. do i need further testing?

Non-reactive 6 months after exposure means that you are HIV negative.

You do not need another test.

    Hi Ginah,

    Its possible to have a false positive result. However, if you think that the result that you’ve had could be wrong, you’ll need to have another test. If possible ask for an ELISA test. If its confirmed that you’re positive, please get back in touch.

    Hi im ginah last month I went to.test for hiv I tested hiv positive if I test different places will still be the same results or what or maybe is just a false results

    I had sex in Dec 2015 I have tested negative in Feb 2018 now is it necessary for further test

    Hi Jay,

    For nearly everyone, the HIV tests will still be HIV positive. This is because HIV tests look for an immune response (called an antibody).

    Even if there was an HIV cure – and this might be found one day – your antibody response is always likely to test HIV positive.

    So if someone is hiv positive and take medication for it it can they test come back non reactive?

    If its possible please have a viral load test. And also talk to a doctor about this.

    I did an hiv test with a hospital and tested positive. I have gone further to do 2 different test with 2 different labs and tested non reactive. What should i do now?
