My Dad is suffering from HIV and his CD4 count is 45. What are his life chances and can they be increased?

I am sorry to hear about your Dad. Because his CD4 count is less than 200, he should be on HIV medication (antiretrovirals). If he is, his life chances are good. If he has access to antiretrovirals and adheres well to the treatment this will definitely help led to prolonged survival.
