Hello Boingotlo and thank you for the question.

HIV i-Base is a charity about HIV treatment.

What I can tell you about TB is that it is very important for the medication to be taken as prescribed.
The bone TB treatment is a longer treatment than chest TB and can go on for many months, even years in some times.

You can help your daughter by providing her with food she likes and can tolerate as the TB medication are sometimes difficult to take and might spoil her appetite.

Small and often meals can also help.

Please inform her doctor for any problems and side effects as they can help with their management.

It is very important to continue with the TB treatment for as long as the doctors tell you and to not miss any doses.

Hi I want to know about the bone TB that was detected after my daughter was sent to the theatre for bone marrow test. How long is this bone TB going to last. Ever since that, she lost a lot of weight and is worried as she was first given tablets for chest TB and after two months tablets were changed to the ones for bone TB and she is never checked to see whether progress is prevailing.

Hi Gasto, it is good that you and your doctor did all these scans straight away. Your doctor needs to talk about what else could be causing this though. We are not doctors at i-Base and your doctor should be talking to you about options and next stages.

Hallo, I am feeling some pain on my left side of the chest , i did ECG and Ct Scan and I was told by the doctor my heart is ok but I continue to feel that pain , intermittent shortness of breath and dizziness.
I also did x-ray on the lungs where I was told I had acute bronchitis and was given medications.
What should I do to know what could be the problem?
