Question

How can I increase my CD4 count?

How can I increase my CD4 count?

Answer

The only way to improve CD4 counts is by using HIV meds (ARVs). These reduce viral load so your CD4 count becomes stronger again, for most people.

Are you already on treatment?  I wondered what your current CD4 count is, and why are you worried about this?

    Hi

Shingles is caused by a member of the herpes family of viruses called varicella zoster virus (VZV). This is the virus that causes chicken pox in children.

It can be treated with antiviral meds – usually high dose acyclovir, or valaciclovir or famciclovir.

The UK NHS website has good information about shingles.
    http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/Shingles/Pages/Introduction.aspx

The treatment will reduce the symptoms and help them heal more quickly.

This is not a cure though because like other herpes-type viruses it can’t be cured, but usually stays dormant. Some people take acyclovir when they don;t have shingles to reduce the risk of infections coming back.

Please see your doctor about treatment.
