The normal CD4 range for HIV negative people is between 400 – 1600 cells/mm3

    Hi Sphindile,

    When thinking about transmission, what’s important is a persons viral load, not their CD4 count. As long as a person has an undetectable viral load there won’t be any risk, please see here: http://i-base.info/u-equals-u/ A persons viral load should become undetectable within 1-3 months of starting treatment. However, to know for sure you’d need to have a viral load test done.
