I am taking PEP, can I have uprotected sex?

I’ve been taking lamzid for 5 days now and I want to find out how this will
affect my pregnant partner when we have unprotected sex?
I am taking lamzid because I slept with someone without a condom and I felt
very unsafe so I went to the doctor within 72 hours and he prescribed lamzid for me.
My pregnant partner is only 7weeks pregnant will this harm our baby?
Answer
There is no data on whether PEP can harm the unborn baby. However, unprotected sex whilst you are taking PEP is not recommended. This is because you don’t know your status and you could infect your partner. That is why it is important to wait until you finish the course and have done the follow-up confirmatory test.

As Angelina says it’s not recommended to have unprotected sex when on PEP because you don’t know your status. But PEP should protect you from new risks while you are still taking it.
im on pep medication for almost 24 days and on the 25th days of my medication i had unprotected sex with someone and im worried coz i dont knw his status and the condom burst. can i go back to hospital and get other pep again,coz i only have 4 left for the previous incident

Do you mean that you had condomless sex while on PEP and are asking if that is a risk of infection?
If you are taking PEP it should protect against HIV infection from a new risk.

I am hiv negative i had sex with my partner the condom bust i went to the clinic n was given prophylaxis so while on treatment i had unprotected sex …should i stop taking medication or should i continue? Am i at risk of getting infectet? As i dont know his status?

I’m sorry to hear about your guy’s diagnosis. But it’s good that he’s now on HIV treatment (ART). Good too that you’ve started PEP.
However, ART can reduce your guy’s viral load quickly. ART can reduce the amount of HIV in the blood to such tiny amounts that you can’t pass it on, even if you don’t use condoms.
Your guy can ask the clinic to monitor the viral load and let him know when it’s undetectable. That means under 50 copies.
