Q and A

Question

What is the most recorded early HIV symptom?

Answer

The majority of people (over 75%) have some flu-like symptoms during seroconversion. These include high temperature, joint pains, fever and general malaise.

All of those can have numerous causes though, and no-one should self-diagnose HIV-infection because of those. An HIV test is the only way to know your status.

My earliest symptoms were: severe joint pains over night (1 day – treated and was over), peeling of my soles (did a pedicure and was over and constant phlegm and bad breathe despite a rigorous dental routine, this took 6 months to clear and still not out fully! Am sure about this as my rapid test was negative and within a month both rapid and elisa came out positive with a CD4 of 560.
