My brother’s CD4 is 15- will he get better?

My brother is just diagnosed for 2 month in China, he was hospitalized due to a fever and painful throat, his CD4 is 15. He has started treatment for 2 month now. But his fever can not be controlled for more than 2 month now in the hospital, so far his brain, heart and lungs are confirmed not affected, I am worried, have you heard about the similar cases, can he have a chance to have his fever controlled?

I am very sorry to hear that your brother is so ill. This must be a very difficult time for you both. But many people are diagnosed with low CD4 counts like this and manage to get better with time.
The fever may be caused by an opportunistic infection. These include illnesses such as pneumonia and tuberculosis (TB). These illnesses need to be treated individually which requires additional drugs to HIV drugs.
Has your brother has been diagnosed with any other illnesses?
If yes, what type of treatment he is being given?
If not, the hospital should consult other experts to think of what might be causing this.
