Question
Is my result negative, because I have waited for too long?

Hi, great website! The information is very useful. I had unprotected sex with a female I didn’t know very well and that was 9 months ago. I have just been for a HIV test which came back negative. If I had picked up the virus, would it be undetectable because I had waited 9 months to take the test? Thanks for your help.
Answer
On the contrary! The fact that the test has been done 9 months after the possible exposure means that it is extremely highly unlikely that your result is incorrect. Breathe freely :)! Unless you have been exposed to the virus after that contact, you are HIV-negative.
Hope this helps.
