Q and A

Question

My CD4 is 350; what can my viral load be?

Answer

It is difficult to predict what your viral load could be. If you are not on ARVs, then most probably it is detectable.

If you live in an area where there is no viral load testing available, your doctor should be following your CD4 count closely. A stable decrease in the count indicates that your immune system is getting weaker and yo will/need ARVs soon. 350, according to some guidelines for treatment of HIV-infection means that you are in a position to start treatment (unless you have not started already).

There is more information on viral load and CD4 count here.
