I’ve taken two pills by mistake, am I going to be OK? I take Atripla.
Answer
Thanks for getting in touch.
Though you only need one tablet a day of Atripla, you’ll be OK. There won’t be any damage.

Hi Azeez, Amatem is a malaria drug and this website is about HIV. Taking a couple of extra doses of any meds is too low to cause any harm though. Babies and children actuall have much stronger livers than adults so your daughter will be ikay.
I took Amatem soft gel 20/120 for a 20kg, I used 4 as a single dose instead of two and I took it consecutively 2days and half before I realized that I supposed to take two so my daughter was complaining if stomach ache ,followed by vomiting and very light stooling when I took her to the hospital they gave her injection to stop the vomiting and stooling .and I still used the tablets for her until I go try the instructions again .pls what can I do hope have not damaged my babies liver like this and she is taken it with antibiotics pls anything I need to do. again .
Hi Leanne, this is not going to be a problem. You may experience slightly worse side effects for the next day. This would be expected with the higher drug level in your body. This will go away in a day or two – if this happens at all.
If you do notice anything that makes you feel worse/ill, speak to a doctor or pharmacist.
I over doses my arvs by mistake I took the same tablet I always takes in the morning I repeat them in the evening
Hi Gloria,
This isn’t how ARVs work. If you take more meds than you’re supposed to do, this will have a negative effect on your body. Your CD4 will increase, but you need to take the ARVs as prescribed by your doctor.
Can I take two tablets daily instead of one in order to increase my Cd4 count?
