Question

I took my morning medication at night…

What happens if you take your morning medication at night instead of your sleeping medication?

Answer

Hi, how are you doing?

What is the name of the medication you are taking? Is this HIV medication?

Taking your medication at the wrong time is unlikely to cause any problems and is a common mistake.

You can continue taking your medication at the normal time. You should not skip your next morning dose.

Josh.

Hi Vivienne, thanks, taking the meds when you remember is always a good idea. Please only take a single dose though. Don’t double dose if you only remember when the next dose is due. Modern HIV meds can cover you if you are later than normal. Or even if you occasionally miss for a day.

Hello Laura and thanks for getting in touch.

I am afraid we can only provide information for medication used for the treatment of HIV.

Please contact your doctor, pharmacist or an emergency department for advice on your heart medication.

I didn’t take my morning pills today and I’m especially worried that I didn’t take my torsemide 100 mgm. Every morning!
And now I don’t know what to do?
I’m thinking I should just wait until the morning, But I have a history of C H F.
