Q and A

Question

Can I take Acriptega and Indapamide together?

Is it good to take Acriptega and Indapamide for high blood pressure at same time

Also, ever since I was placed on different ranges of ARV meds, I’ve lost my beautiful structure and became shapeless with big stomach, arms and burst and thin legs with veins.

Do you think I can regain my shape in the long run with Acriptega, pls advise, I really hate the way I look now. My waistline used to be size 32 and now is 44 due to bigger stomach.

Answer

Hi, how are you doing?

I am sorry to hear about the changes in your body. Over how long have you noticed these changes? and what HIV medication were you taking before Acriptega?

Acriptega can cause weight gain. It is a generic version of TLD. The ‘D’ standing for dolutegravir and it is this drug that contributes to weight gain. It is often reported as generalised weight gain instead of changing the fat distribution of the body.

Have you tried anything currently to help with your body e.g., changing your diet, exercise (you have mentioned running), or improving how you sleep?

And have you mentioned this weight gain to your doctor?

There is no interaction between Acriptega and Indapamide. It is okay to take them together.

Josh.
