Q and A

Question

What are the chances that I have HIV?

Nine months after having an unprotected one night stand with a girl I met I decided to go for an HIV test. The test came back negative. Is there any possible way it could have been a false negative? Just recently I have been getting regular headaches, ulcers on my tongue and occasional stomach pain.

Answer

Thank you for your question. If your negative HIV test results were nine months ago and you have not engaged in any risky behaviour, those results are conclusive. The symptoms you describe could be of any ailment. If you are worried about them, please see a doctor.
