Please see this post on the difference between wight loss and fat loss.
If HIV is progressing quickly and you are not on treatment, then HIV can cause weight loss.
If you started treatment and this includes d4T or AZT, then fat loss can occur within the first year.
Either way, if you have these symptoms this is something your HIV doctor should know and talk to you about.
