Q and A

Question

I was late with a dose, will it matter?

I have a VL of a 100.

I have been very punctual in the taking of my meds for the past four months and ever since I started.

Last night for the first time I forgot, so I took them this morning: 9.5 hrs later than usual. Is this likely to cause any problems, bearing in mind my VL is still detectable?

I am on the once daily Truvada/Stocrin combo.
thanks for your help

Answer

Hello,

You would be very unlucky to have any problems from being late once with your medication. Your combination is quite forgiving as is explained at this previous question.

How long have you been on treatment for, and when was your last viral load test? A viral load of 100 is very close to undetectable. If you have started treatment recently, and your viral load has been decreasing, it is likely that it is undetectable already. Follow this link for more information about viral loads after starting treatment.
