How am I negative and my boyfriend positive?

Hey I’m 27 and just found out that my partner is taking atroiza. We have been together for 2 years and he started taking it in 2012 but I’m still negative, what does that mean because we were not using protection?

Hi there,
It is very common for someone to still be negative even if they have not been using condoms with someone who is HIV positive. HIV is quite a difficult virus to catch, so this is also related to risk and luck. Please see this question for a full explanation.
