Q and A

Question

What are D100 tablets and isoniazid used for?

What are pink big tablets marked D100 and Winthrop Isoniazid 300 mg used for?

Answer

Hi

Isoniazid is often used as a protective treatment to reduce the risk of TB.

D100 might be a medicine called doxycycline, which is a drug used to treatment many different things.

Please ask your doctor or pharmacist to talk about this. These people will help you understand your medicine and what it is being used for.

    Hi Joy,
Tencitab and Truvada contain the same drugs and both tablets can be used for PrEP. D100 is embossed on one side of Tribuss, and it says M171 on the other side. Once your hubby’s viral load is undetectable, and stable that way for several months, you can think again about using PrEP. You can read more about Undetectable = Untransmittable (U=U) here.

    Hi Sihle,
Please can you make your question clearer? What HIV meds are you taking, and what are your CD4 count and viral load results?

    Hi Martha,
Are you taking Winthrop isoniazid? Atroiza and isoniazid can be taken together as one drug doesn’t interact with the other one. Atroiza is a well known HIV treatment. And isoniazid is treatment for TB.

I just took both Winthrop and atroiza together what are the side effects

    Hi Enuice,

Its great to hear that you’ve decided to restart meds. What’s your CD4 count?

If you’re having issues with the Winthrop, you will need to discuss this with your doctor.

Hi please advise, I defaulted my ARV treatment last year in June so I just decided to take my treatment again. I am given Atroiza as well as Winthrop isoniazid that I am advised to take every morning. My body is not well every morning after taking this morning tablet. What are the advantages and disadvantages of stopping it and just continue with ARV treatment.

    Hi Zee,

We get asked this question a lot. There’s no easy answer to this as we’re all very different. However, have you tried asking him what his views are with regards to HIV? And how is your relationship?
